Default Could I go to a bank for my online venture?

I was wondering if I could go to a bank with a proposal stating that this is my website and hopefully I would have at least a semi running model of my website and show the bank that I have something worth investing in. Whether it was selling this or that like a grill website, or a movie website, or whatever.

If I showed them a possible competitor and what they are doing in a month in pure traffic and equate that to dollars like for every 100 customers 2 will buy or something like that. I wonder if I couldn't get them to front me the money to make and or finish the site. In which case I could take that money and get a professional to make the site.

But is it possible to do something like that or is it even that easy to do something like that? with the proposal and all to the bank.

If anyone has tried will you let us who don't know know whether it worked or not.

Thanks

Hmmmm
interesting concept, but I'm not sure if that is necessary,
you can just loan a small amount can't you?

what's the kinda figure you're thinking about?
Usually, starting a web biz doesn't really need that much or money, unless you have something really really huge to start with, which is not advisable to begin with.

If you're looking for say 1-2 grand, perhaps a personal loan would solve your problems, no need to show them your stuff right?

Hit me back

well in the interest of privacy and everything I would want to keep my stuff from prying eyes but I would think a personal loan would work just to get me started cause lord knows I don't want to ask family and friends or maybe I do I mean if I am confident in what I do there and can show them that it will make money at least my family because I know that they wouldn't try and steal my ideas! RIGHT?

Anyhow hopefully they would be supportive and interested in what I have to start up.

Thanks for the reply.

Banks are not the best option for securing start-up finances. In my exp they always come with too many strings attached. For new start ups the interst rates are often sky high due to the 'risk factor' as they call it. I guess most banks have had thier fingers burnt too often.

Basically the way I see the banks well lend money if they are convinced. Make a sokid written proposel and show them how the rest of them in your proposed business. If they like they will give you money.
