Default E-Mail Marketing

Why do people spend so much money on propogating their company's message through advanced email campaigns?

Does anyone actually take notice of them? I've only heard of people mentioning them in a negative light, never have I heard anyone say they are anything but a nuisance.

Does anyone think they can be used effectively?

i agree with you,

With more and more email explorers having a "spam" feature people will just think that it is spam

it really has never worked

Email marketing is a waste of time and money! The probelm is that it is really difficult for a web user to see email marketing as anything other than spam, unless it is a specific target demogrpahic. for example if I was crazy about playing gold and I recieved an unsolicated email about buying some golf clubs, I might be inclined to read it, becuase from my past internet history I may have viewed golf sites and signed up to mailing lists without remembering, so i think, oh well lets take a look at it. however if it was about a subjetc I hold absoluelty no interest in, id hit delete

Email marketing , for me , is just a different way of spelling the word SPAM.

I completely agree with netgal06 - that is the truth behind email marketing .

I dont have the exact numbers but I'm sure that this is pretty accurate :
if you send 100 emails , only 5 of those will be read and only 1 of those 5 will be considered.

Not worth it.

I find it really very annoying . To make email advertising to work for you, having a good copy write is absolutely important. But what makes things even trickier is the fact that most of the email readers you will be targeting will usually be pressed for time. This presents two major challenges. Firstly, getting the email recipients to open your email and secondly, once they've opened your promotional email, getting them to read it completely through.
