To "google" has become a household term. It's come from this to this in 8 years and is the 3rd most visited website in the world.

How do you think they did it? What are they doing right, do you think?

well google has taken off really fast

Well if you ask me , Google isn’t the best search engine, but it is the most accessible and easy to use one. its fast, and had a huge database, and dont laugh but i thing their name has a lot to do with your success. like the term searching is been replaced by " google it " slowly... well it one of those things where success cant be explained in the general sense. basically, one finds it easy to remember then names of other great search sites like atlavista.com and stuff.... but the audio and video search in AltaVista is much better then googles any day, 8)

Google has caught on alot due to the media. Many films and television series make reference to google. 'let's google it.' If the search engine was called another name I doubt it would be as successful. Superfical? yes. But its true.

Plus if somethign works, many poeple,cant be bothered to change the system that works for them. I have only ever used the two mainstream engines yahoo and google. I hardly ever use yahoo, i use google because thats why my computer is set to by default

I never realised how much google has changed over the years! It has a much simpler and cleaner look now.

Their logo is also a winning edge. Never underestimate a brand image!

When your "average Joe" is sitting in front of computer and he wants to find something on the web , imagine him typing yahoo.com or google.com .
What do you think , which site he will preffer in future?
