Email opt out

Is there a specific phrase or wording I need on my site for an email opt out clause. I know many sites word this differently but the message is basically the same. Just so I can cover myself.

have a look over this link. Its aimed as Candadian business people but basically i think the information would apply to any country. What they stress is that the wording is esay to see and easy to understand. Fpor example if you sell kid products you would make sure the language was easy to understand to them etc

just spend some time goin over all the words,

find a reliable copy, go thru and modify the words as necessary, and be detailed, each word brings a meaning to the sentence,

just do that, and it's done, don't worry about it so much

I think including an opt out establishes your credibility as some opt ins are spamming these days by filling people's inboxes with crap . Opt in and opt out are concepts borrowed from the sales area. To practice telesales you need a list or a database with contact information (name, address, phone number, etc) and with an advanced software tool, the dialling could be established automatically.Because of the fact that an e-mail is a much more powerful medium by which you can reach millions of readers in one batch, the opt out mechanism became an issue.
