Default What about guru?

Has anyone had much experience with guru? They seem to offer many jobs but ive only signed up as a basic 'free' member. im a but wary to pay money becuase I dont think many of the buyers on thier site are accepting bids from countries other than the USA. They joining fees are really high and I want to know if it is worth it before I proceed

Greetings Net,

I have never used Guru before, but they do seem a reliable freelancing marketplace. Their subscription fees seem to be in the same range as Elance, but in the frequency of work / projects posted is higher.

I think the best thing to do at this moment in time is just experiment with the basic / free subscription. Try to submit your proposals to the bids for which you qualify (you could at least get a couple a week I would guess) and see whether buyers do respond. You can then take it from there.

I too am a basic member but have never had any offers that I qualify for from them. There doesn't seem to be many projects there that I could work on and prefer sites such as rentacoder, gaf and constant content.

I've never really used it but from what I see and hear there isn't as wide of a variety as you can get with GAF. With getafreelancer, you can find yourself alot of jobs. They have pretty much every single category. The problem is all the same though-- people are scared that they will get ripped off and won't receive a payment. Just put the money in escrow, or choose a user with good feedback and you should be fine.
