Default What currency is mainly used?

I am only new to sites like gaf etc and the one thing I am a little confused on is when you place your bid what currency are they using?? they dont state this, nor do they offer any currency convertors. I have no idea if I am over or under estimating my bids! GAF is based in switzerland so would i assume its euro's guri is based in america so is it in US dollars?

Im a little worried that there will be a misunderstanding in future

All these freelancing sites use the US dollar as their currency denomination. Before making a bid, make sure you do the maths right: convert to your given currency and see if it's a fair payment for the job you'll be undertaking.

As someone who has a lot of experience in freelancing, I strongly advise you not to compromise on your rates just to get work. The most important thing is to establish contacts with good clients. Someone who appreciates your work and pays you accordingly. Forget about the low-bid vultures, they're absolutely not worth your time.

1. Check out again. Every bid or budget on GAF is in $xxx format.
2. GAF is from Lidköping (Sweden)

The whole Website of GAF is filled up with " $ " symbol & you are saying which currency they use. Well mainly all of the Freelance sites use $ as their primary Curreny for the purpose of ease for the buyer & the seller both. If you need any help at GAF you can ask me anytime. I will be happy to help you. Thanks.

looking over the site I do see that gaf uses the $... format, but America are not the only country to use $... Other countries such as Candada, New Zealand, Australia use dollars too with different values in the dollar.. But I am finding that most sites do use US dollars anyway
