Default Domain brokers -whats your opinion

I’m divided when it comes to selling domain names. It is a great opportunity and I have some great ideas for domain names, but is it unethical? Or is it just unethical if we were to register a domain name for say a movie or an organization and then try to re-sell it back to them (it happens a lot). Some domain names are sold for inflated prices that seem very unreasonable. I specifically hate it when vultures are on the look out for domain expiry to steal it away. I know its all in the name of business, but I think ethics go a long way too.

my advice is, don't go for it, if you yourself feel bad and unethical about it, it ain't gonna be something you wanna do for long term right, so in the end, you might just waste a lot of time doing it, getting nothing in the end

It's not unethical if the names are new and there are no popular brands that wear the same name.

If you copyright , for example pepsi.com and then sell it to the Pepsi Co then you are unethical but will you feel bad about it?
That really depends on your character... :?:

Well I wouldnt feel bad for selling something to pepsi because they are a corporate giant, but if it was a smaller business who hadnt registerd their business name via the web and my motive for buying a domain was to sell it to them, then yes I would feel bad about it, even more so If i was waiting for someones domain to expire just so i could sell it back to them. A practice which I am strongly against

but if I registered a domain which i thought was a good marketing lure and nobody had thought of it before I wouldnt feel too bad

hhmmmm

reminds me of the guinness web thing that happened in 2002 if i'm not mistaken,

you guys remeber the www.whoisadamking.com ad campaign and how a dude just bought the domain instead of guinness?

i wonder what happened to the domain after that, could guinness have bought it from that dude with a high price??
