Tell me about your on-line business

I know there is alot out there to read about e-commerce and on-line businesses. I am interested in freelance writing and would like to know more in "Layman's Terms".

Please post your true life stories. How did you start out? How are you doing now? I would like to know the Pros and Cons and what to expect. Did you keep your regular jobs while you were getting started or did you jump in both feet?

I have been in writing jobs since high school. I would create write ups for some people with fee and also in publication as a contributor or columnists. My friend learned about my interest. She gave me content developing jobs. She closes the deals for some potential clients and she delegates the tasks to me. In return she gives me the full pay. I know so well, that writing is my forte and everything just comes naturally for me when I write. However, when doing a write up which is composed of 1000 words or more I still have to do some research work and read more about the subject matter. Sometimes, the fee is too low that I exerted more effort to my job with low compensation. Anyway, experience counts especially if you enjoy doing it.

Freelance writing was a real good job before but now the project creators have really lowered down the fees and it is disheartening , I have left writing articles because writing an article takes two hours at the minimum and the pay is only about 2$ to 3$ so that is no more a lucrative area for me .
