Default Windows vista ready to go: in stores jan 30 will you upgrade

After five years and repeated delays, Microsoft Corp. finished Windows Vista on Wednesday and announced plans to release it in stores Jan. 30 -- ending an unusually arduous chapter in the life of the company's flagship product.

Microsoft's next big challenge will be getting people to upgrade to the program. But for a moment, at least, the company's relief at finishing the project was palpable.

whats your opinion would you upgrade or stay with your existing OS.

Why they go free if linux is free. They are doing hell of a job.. Kudos to them. Every software has bugs and nothing is perfect in this world.

Also vista is leaked illegaly i read on a blog

I've tried the Windows Vista beta version and I love it. It's not great for gamers though as hardly any online games support this version.

Yeah I probably will upgrade because I've already tried the beta and I love it. It's amazing, and it's definitely better than XP. The only thing I'm scared about is how secure it is, and if it's virus protection is any better. Maybe I need to add some more RAM, but for Vista I can do that. Hopefully Vista won't disappoint me.

I do not see a reason to spend $100 to $500 dollars to change the look of my computer. I already believe that windows xp works just fine. It is not unstable and seems to be free of glitches. I believe that the only way to upgrade, if my current computer decides to stop running and I am forced to utilize vista. It looks like if I switched to Visa I would have to spend even more money upgrading my 1 year old computer to get it to run properly with vista. I vote no
