The only possible way to check the status of your submission is to write a curteous message to the Dmoz editor and ask him for the progress of your submission. I very highly doubt they would answer you back, since most people probably do send them such requests.
Another helpful tip: Check your logs to see if the Dmoz editor (comes under the spider: editors.dmoz.org) visited your website. If they did, it's a good sign of your submission progress. You can expect a decision in the next few weeks from their visit.
