Default Most common legal issues that affect e-businesses?

When you start an E-business you obviously need to know the laws for other countries. Especially if your going to be having customers from around the globe, and not JUST your country. So, I guess the most common legal issues that e-businesses have is the question of whether a product is legal or not in another country, right? What other legal issues are common with e-businesses?

Given the many countries and all their differences in policies and such, is there a way to determine is my products are legal in certain countries?

Where or who should i check with?

Well, I guess your best friend would be Google in this case. I doubt Google could tell you everything for every product and every country. So I suppose if you had a friend in that country or something, then you could find out. If it's a big country you have a much higher chance of finding out, but if it's one of those small countries, it's probably going to be alot harder to find out.

Uhh if you wanted to know the laws in Malaysia because you had a customer in Malaysia, I guess you could google the product name and laws in Malaysia. For example, lets say the product was cigars or something. "Cigar Laws in Malaysia" would probably give you some information on what you were trying to find out.

Yeah that is a long shot but it's just an example. If your going to be shipping your product internationally you need to be 100% sure that the product is legal in that country, otherwise you're screwed. Google can be your best friend on that, cause Google can find pretty much everything these days.

Trademark and copyright infringement is one such issue . If you have an ebook you need to protect that too . Many business owners and webmasters pay writers to write eBooks for them. Writers spend hours, days and weeks researching material and writing the eBook. But for writers, business owners & webmasters alike, there is often little in the way of protection in place that stops unscrupulous operators from stealing eBook content. Shockingly, 4 out of every 10 eBooks offered for sale on the Internet are pirated.

Hmm, that makes alot of sense. Especially for freelancers. I often see on projects that once a copywriting project is completed, complete ownership of all the articles must be turned over to the service buyer. That way, people can't use them later. But, people find a way around this easily. They find an article they want to use online, and just hire someone to re-write it. Although it isn't word for word the same, it still has the same idea.
