Sales tax
A question sure to receive attention from state legislators and Congress is how to collect taxes on sales that are made online. In the early days of E-Commerce, the White House suggested the states not place a tax burden on this emerging market. However, with the current and potential size of electronic sales transactions, States are worried about loss of tax revenue.
Online stores follow the same rules that traditional mail order houses use, which allows them to collect tax from customers who live in those states where the company has a store. What would happen if the company does not have its branch in my country? Collecting tax would be impossible. Yes! These rules may not be adequate for E-Commerce.
Watch in the future to see if Congress passes legislation that will allow the states to establish new taxation policies. Do you think that some states will develop more favorable tax plans than others do in order to attract businesses?

I doubt it as well, if there really are countries that imposes tax on online sales. Besides, the legislators would find it difficult to pass some provisions about tax on electronic sales.

Meanwhile, let us enjoy the fact that the State does not intervene much in the electronic sales. Probably such non-intervention could be attributed to the fact that online business is not yet that widely spread; besides in our country only few attempts to advertise or sell online.

In my country, which is the Philippines, I have not heard much about this tax for e-businesses. There are small business entrepreneurs who sell through the websites, and some of those of whom I am acquainted with, did not mention something about the tax they monthly or annually pay to the government. Besides, how could the government be able to monitor the sales of a Web site? In my case, as a freelancer, I do not have tax to worry about.

Online shopping does goes because we might find things cheaper online and main reason was also no sales tax . Do we shop it for convenience, availability, price or to save the sales tax? Everyone has different reasons, but it really all depends on what we are looking for. Many times items cannot be easily found or are even available locally. Then the price factors in, next the sales tax or the shipping charges. However, if you are buying a consumer item online that is high priced, it could make a difference of hundreds of dollars of sales tax item.
