Understanding the concept of societal marketing
There are people that do what they like because it is their style but on the other hand there are people who just like to follow trends. If you decide you want to follow trends you are going to go down a slippery slope because once you’re in it there is no way out and society in one way or the other got you on that slippery slope.
Let’s first define that what societal marketing is: “Societal marketing blends social, company and customers wants.”
The modern time is the time of information, peoples are more aware of sensitive issues which the earlier generations did not know, like shortage of resources, health issues, environmental deterioration.
Companies are conscious about the environmental concepts and do not produce products harmful to the environment or people. Companies do not produce poisonous wastage and recycling process is carried out to preserve environment. Ingredients which are harmful to human health and environment are avoided. Companies such as Proctor and Gamble, Ariel, General Electronics, etc focuses on Societal Marketing.
