How much to invest in a forum?
I've been really interested about this topic for a while. I've always wanted to start a forum, but I really don't know how, and also I don't know how much investing is involved. So for those of you that have had personal experiences, give me all the information. Is it hard to build a forum? How much should you really invest? Any personal experiences?

Do you have anything in mind that how would you want to open a forum. Though as such I do not have any personal experience but one should have something in mind so that it can be implemented. There may be many types of forum you can open so i suppose the costing depends on what type it is.

Well the kind of forum I want to open is just a forum that has topics about everything. Computers, cars, business, entertainment, sports, life, etc. I guess the bigger it is the more it will cost, correct? But I don't even know how much it costs to open a simple forum, and that's really what I'm trying to find out. I just want a good estimate of how much you should invest in a forum.

That's true I suppose. The only problem is I have no idea who the webmaster of this forum is. So then I wouldn't be able to ask him if I didn't know who he was. I suppose I can go and ask another webmaster from another forum, but it probably varies from forum to forum. I guess the best thing to do would be find a forum similar to the one I want, and ask that webmaster. But how do you find out who the webmaster is?

I believe that you are wondering much about the real webmaster. Well, I have no ready answer. Besides, my friend who has the direct contact of the client who hired us to do posting here, could possibly be one of the Webmasters; yet I could not verify that much. Webmaster could refer to anyone else, that might be a name for those people who do the posting. Probably, you have to ask who runs this program webmasterdigest.com? Who are our hosts?

Yeah, I bet the person who has hired us probably knows the web master, or knows how to contact the webmaster. So I guess it would be smart to just ask them. There is also probably more than one webmaster, because this website is more than a forum because its webmaster.com . So I suppose there is one for this forum, and then possibly more.

You may have your hypothetical answer to the majority of the users' query as close to the correct one. I am very interested to meet the webmasters as well. Albeit the fact, that these site's bosses remain enigmatic to many, they have their contact to some users who have been directly hired. I am thinking if they work by team.
All I could say is that, this forum, whose proponents are they, is indeed a successful one. Cheers!

I guess the real cost will be spend on the marketing part, isn't it? To build the forum board itself isn't much. But to get traffic and users to participate will cost something. Placing links here and there, advertising about the forum..etc. That'll cost something, i assume.

if you're not the type who can program your own forum, and you want somethign that's good enuff not to get anyone saying it's bad, then, you do need some money to purchase the forum software you know
and the price might not be cheap depending on how much budget you have
