Default Know your target audience.

In order to reach your goals, you must know your target audience. And if you think that "everyone" is your target audience you are wrong, and wrong in a way that will cost you significant time, trouble and money

Assuming you have limited marketing dollars, you want to spend them wisely. If you own a wedding gown boutique, which would be the more profitable thing to do: Send flyers announcing a sale to everyone in your town OR send flyers only to those women who subscribe to bridal magazines, have hired a wedding planner or booked a hall?

That's a good idea. I guess alot of times the target audience isn't everybody. But to know your target audience to the best degree it is important that the person marketing does alot of market research so that they know what to do to get the target audience attracted to the product, and who the target audience is.

Ofcourse , as you can never sell an ebook to someone looking for flowers , this makes it utmost necessary . When you establish your internet marketing campaigns it is important to remember the basic principles of any advertising campaign and this should really start with you identifying your target audience and being aware of how to reach this audience.Some basic research will provide you a general overview of both the potential profitability and size of your target market as well as those areas where competition is less fierce.
