Is link prefetching standards compliant?
Yes, link prefetching as outlined in this document does not violate any existing web standards. In fact, the HTML 4.01 specification explicitly allows for the definition of new link relation types. However, the exact mechanism employed by Mozilla is not yet standardized. An Internet-Draft is in the works.
