Default What to do when you don't get paid?

Many of us freelancers all share the same problem when we finish a project. We don't get paid. Recently, I had a job with a computer forum. I got paid for every post that I did. The problem was that the guy got his revenue from Google AdSense and claimed that he couldn't get paid because he lived in India. So, he said he would pay me in a week or so. After that, I never heard from him. What action can I take if he hasn't payed me? This is more of a general question, what action can a normal freelancer take if they haven't got paid?

well, considering you live way too far from physical contact, it's best not to deliver any final product unless the payment has been made

If you happen to acquire that project from GAF site, you can post a negative review or rate on that guy who didn’t paid you for your work. Or if it came from other freelance sites, you can report the incident to the administrator of the site as long as you have enough information about him. These are the best moves that you can do to be able to warn other freelancers for such fraudulent activity. As freelancers, we should be careful enough in accepting a certain project. We should always take time to further investigate status, such as rates and reviews of consolidators who gives us projects. In the industry of freelancing, it’s hard to identify fraudulent people, thus, freelancers should be keen as well in observing the project consolidator during negotiation with him/her.

The problem with posting negative reviews is that the person can just post one back about you, even if you DID do a good job, and that makes you look bad. When you report it to the administrator, does anything happen? I'm sure they will strike the account in some way but it's not like we'll get the money..

Report him to the GAF website and see what they can do . Leave him a negative feedback and so that other providers also get skeptical about doing his work , plus also do one thing for sure , never start off his project until he has done the escrow payment .
