Google Retains Number 1 spot While Yahoo! Settles for 2nd
Google, with 47.4 percent of US Web search market share, has gained an increase of 0.4 percent during the last month of the previous year, enough to secure the number one slate. While Yahoo! has to settle for number two spot with 28.5 percent but with a remarkable increase too of 0.3 percent in December.
3.2 billion searches were hosted by Google and 1.9 billion by Yahoo!
On number 3 is Microsoft with 10.5 percent, losing 0.5 percent from last month. InterActiveCorp's Ask.com's share plunges by 0.1 percent to 5.4 percent.
As compare to last year, US web searches conducted have increased by 30 percent. In December of last year, 6.7 billion searches were recorded by US users alone.
