Thumbs up Cellphones: Shaping Developing countries

The emergence of cellphone use has extensively molded developing countries like Vietnam, Bangladesh, India and the Philippines in its economic sustainability over the years

Vietnam's wireless communication is helping fuel it's rapid growth-- and transforming dozens of their developing nations from ground zero up.

In India for example, fishermen call ahead to ports to see where they get the best deal on their catch.

While in South Africa, cellphones serve as a virtual office for carpenters, painters and other laborers who post their numbers on handwritten signs advertising their skills

The Philippines on the other hand, more than 4 million people use their cellphones as virtual wallets to buy things or transfer cash.

It is good to know that text messaging is not just another form of communication to stay connected with family and friends but it also help boost economic advancement for developing countries worldwide

The figures of cellphone subscriptions in India are amazing . Of the 5.33 million phone people who subscribed to phone service in March 2006, 94 percent were solely for mobile phones, bringing the number of Indians with phone service to 140 million.
