Text Messaging, Now 15 Cents per Message

Verizon is raising its text messaging rate by 5 cents. The 15-cent text rate is for those Verizon users without a monthly plan and will be effective on March 1 of this year.

It can be remembered that Sprint Nextel Corp. and AT&T Cingular Wireless implemented the same rate increase to their users recently.

Wow, they really want to penalize their customers for not having the text messaging plan, or going over. This is really popular for teenagers because many of them go over text messages with their rate plan. I used to have T-Mobile. At first, it used to be 5 cents per text message. Now, it is 10 cents. I wouldn't be surprised to see T-mobile have a price increase too.

I think it may be, because both plans are much different.
