Default Apple urges iPod users not to upgrade to Vista

Well, once again Apple and Microsoft are going at it. Apple told all of its iPod users that use iTunes not to upgrade to Windows Vista. The reason being that iTunes and Vista might have some compatibility problems. Although iTunes is working on some Windows Vista OS, Apple says it won't work on all of them. But, Microsoft is saying that they shouldn't not upgrade to Vista because of that reason. They are said to be working with a list of partners to improve compatibility issues with softwares, and that includes Apple.

Apple ITunes 7.0.2 might be able to work with Windows Vista on some regular PCs. This recommendation comes from Apple itself. If you’re about to upgrade to Window Vista OS, here are some helpful information that you might need for your Apple ITunes:
(1) ITunes Store may not be able to play if came from Windows 2000 or XP OS.
(2) Ipod models’ option of “Enable Disk Use” will not be available for updates or restoration of Ipod software as well as making modifications on Ipod configured settings.
(3) Ipod models with Auto Sync setting and “Enable Disk Use” option is turned off will be ejected and reconnected for resynchronization.
(4) If your Ipod is ejected from the system tray through “Safely Remove Hardware” feature might corrupt your Ipod. As alternative, to safely remove or eject the Ipod, choose Eject Ipod from the Controls Menu in ITunes.
(5) Cover flow animation will be slower than expected
(6) Contacts and calendars are not possible for synchronization with Ipod.

Those are some great tips and I'm glad you found them. I have an iPod and now I'm glad it wont get screwed up because of Vista. Does it matter which version you use of Vista or are the risks the same no matter what version you use?

Hey , that is very bad as apple might be like jealous of microsoft on this pont because just for the ipod they are stopping users who might be interested in vista , The problems may not affect all Windows users, according to Apple, but they are serious enough that the company does not recommend that PC owners install Vista just yet.
