Diary Land
Although it prefers the term 'online diary', DiaryLand is a blogging tool in all but name, with many useful tools.
Although it prefers the term 'online diary', DiaryLand is a blogging tool in all but name. Its cute, colourful design gives it an amicable air, while the signup process is refreshingly quick and easy. There are seven diary templates to choose from plus further scope to customise your pages using HTML commands. You can password-protect the diary and give access privileges to up to 10 other DiaryLand users, as well as send them messages and add their diaries to your favourites list. Besides its standard account, the site offers Gold membership for around £15 a year. This gives you a host of extra features, including the ability to post pictures, get visitor statistics and receive more efficient technical support. Annoyingly, some of the tools only available to paying members, such as adding surveys and comments to your diary, are listed in the free version to encourage you to upgrade. It seems that despite its friendliness and simplicity, to make the most of DiaryLand you need to cough up some cash.
