How does ibibo Great Indian Blogger Hunt work?
The winners (100 till Feb 15 and 250 every month after that) in the ibibo Great Indian Blogger Hunt will be selected on the basis of their monthly ibQ Scores. The blogger with the highest monthly ibQ Score will be ranked first; the blogger with the second-highest monthly ibQ Score will be ranked second and so on. In case of a tie based on the month's ibQ Score, all bloggers with the same score will receive the same corresponding rank that month.

A blogger's monthly ibQ Score is calculated through a formula that combines the blogger's activity with reader response. The ibQ Score has three components: Quality Score, Popularity Score and Activity Score:

The Quality Score (QS) is a reflection of how readers rated a blogger's blog. It is determined on a scale of 1-5, where 1 is the lowest rating and 5 the highest. The overall blog rating is a simple average of all the posts' ratings.

The Popularity Score (PS) as the name suggests, is a reflection of how popular a blogger is with the community of readers. It is a combination of page views, comments and number of fans that a blog has.

The Activity Score (AS) is a reflection of the blogger's consistency in posting new posts on the blog.

So every time a blogger makes a new post it adds to his/her Activity Score. Then, the number of people visiting that post, the number of comments it gets and the number of people who become fans of that blogger contribute to his/her Popularity Score. Both the Activity Score and the Popularity Score could go down if the actions contributing to them are reversed/deleted. The Rating that the viewers give to a post determines the Quality Score of the blogger. This could push the ibQ Score up or down.

The leaderboard shows the current standing of the top blogs based on their monthly ibQ Scores. This helps bloggers know where they stand in comparison to others.

wow, it seems that indians are getting more and more prominent on the internet nowadays

not bad considering india is indeed a big country with a huge population, perhaps this is a sign that webmasters should start focusing on the indian e-business eh

yeah india is booming for its e-commerce capabilities

another good country is china

these two have a really really huge population and they are still far behind in terms of e-commerce so, instead of marketing to the already savvy americans, marketing to indians and chinese is a much better option since it's not saturated yet

Yeah I got to agree on how India is moving forward on the internet. Many of the freelancers I see online are mostly from India, and there are also many people who want to start an e-business that live in India. Most of the time, service providers from a foreign country will give you lower rates than if you wanted to complete a project and get it done by someone within your company or country. This can be both good and bad. Good because it saves us money, but bad because it is taking jobs away.

How do you enroll in this contest and what are the qualifications you must have to participate? What kind of prizes are there? Give us some more information on this. It sounds kind of interesting.

well , the only jist of the matter here is that the website makes money through advertising and the blog that is frequent with advertsing them and drives traffic to them gets all the points .
those top blogs are chosen for awards , well many people have gone against it also .

Oh so basically the blogger that has the best blogs generates the most revenue and they are the ones that get rewarded? I guess that makes alot of sense and it's a win-win situation.

Yes , it can be a win win situation , but the thing that people do not understand is that they will let you win only when you let them earn by advertising your blog that will earn them money through advertsing , but at the same time you can advertise your blog , do the same hard work and advertise and keep all the profits and not even share it with any third party .
