I've been designing web pages for a while, and what I've found out is this. You can make a good site, submit it to drectories like dmoz and such for FREE, and if your website is anywhere near good, search engines will pick up on it and it will be listed. The rankings depend on how you put your website together and the quality of content and links you have. Thats about it really.
